Privacy Policy

Readers

You can read Nexlane News without an account. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell personal data.

If you like or report an independent article, you sign in with Google. We store your account ID so each person can like or report an article only once, and the reason and details of any report you send.

Journalists

When you apply we store what you enter: name, pen name, email, phone, beat, city, portfolio and social links, writing sample and reason. Name or pen name, city, bio, photo and your articles become public once your profile is active. Your phone number, email and application are not shown publicly.

To verify you, we ask for a link to one government ID that you share privately with our admin account through your own Google Drive. We do not copy it to this website. We open it only to check your identity, never publish it, and you can withdraw access after you are approved.

Services we use

The site runs on Google Firebase (hosting, database and sign-in) and loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives technical data such as your IP address when you use those parts. Headline images load directly from the publishers' servers.

Cookies and storage

Google sign-in stores a session in your browser. The admin tools store small preferences in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your data, or remove your journalist profile and articles, by contacting us below. Some records, such as reports about content, may be kept where needed to protect readers or meet legal duties.

Children

Nexlane News is not meant for children under 13, and journalist applicants must be adults.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
